The PowerBeam directs the RF energy in a narrower beam width. With the focus in one direction, the PowerBeam blocks or filters the noise spatially, thereby improving noise immunity. This feature is especially important in an area filled with other RF signals of the same or similar frequency.

Integrated design
PowerBeam models are available in two forms:

  • All-In-One Design: Ubiquiti’s Research and Development team combined radio and antenna to create a more efficient and compact CPE. The PowerBeam obtains the maximum gain of the smallest footprint.
  • Dish Reflector Design: Ubiquiti’s InnerFeed ™ technology integrates the radio into the feed horn of an antenna, so a cable is not necessary. This improves performance because it eliminates cable losses.
  • Providing improved performance from its faster processor and innovative mechanical design at a low cost, the PowerBeam is extremely versatile and cost-effective to deploy.

 

Using airMAX technology
Unlike the standard Wi-Fi protocol, the Ubiquiti time division multiple access (TDMA) AirMAX protocol allows each client to send and receive data using predefined time slots programmed by an intelligent AP controller.

This “temporary slot interval” method eliminates hidden node collisions and maximizes the efficiency of antenna time. It provides significant performance improvements in latency, performance and scalability compared to all other outdoor systems in its class. Intelligent Priority QoS is given to voice / video for seamless streaming.
